A cuddly mallard duck, (of course you could knit him in white, yellow or just plain brown). This guy is a little bit famous in the UK, where he was the poster duck for the Unraveled knitting festival. The pattern is available individually or as part of the eBook Around the Barnyard which also features the patterns for a pig, sheep, cow, mother hen and baby chick. For an INTERMEDIATE KNITTER because of picking up stitches, increasing and decreasing and short row shaping (fully explained in the pattern). A little sewing is required. The Duck pattern uses some surprising construction which may be a challenge, but in a good way. HINTS AND TIPS to help you with this pattern are available on my blog this is mentioned in the pattern. I'm an expat Brit living in the San Francisco Bay Area and a stay at home Mum. I'm also an avid knitter with many ideas for interesting designs using unusual construction and techniques. My Mum taught me to knit when I was 7 years old, I thought I'd forgotten it but when I came back to knitting 7 years ago I discovered that it was all still there. I love to knit in 3D and around corners, so I use knitting in the round and short row shaping in many of my designs. I'd also prefer not to sew lots of pieces together, so my knitted toy designs have as little sewing as I can manage.
