I had the good fortune to attend a spinning and weaving exhibition recently, where quality yarn was also available for sale. I came across the Donegal tweed and thought it would make a great hat. As I was knitting it up, it went through my mind how it would resemble a dessert - hence the name! GAUGE 22 stitches and 32 rows over 10cm (4in) using 4.5mm needles SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS One size fits most

Recommended with this pattern

  • 1 ball Sirdar Donegal Tweed and 4.5mm d/p and/or circular needles

I first picked up a sewing needle when I was about 7 years old, learning to hand-sew hems, replace buttons etc I progressed to machine sewing in my teenage years but never owned my own machine until I started having my family, when I was making my daughter's clothes and home furnishings. My lifelong passion has been knitting from the time I first picked up a set of needles at 12 years old - more than 30 years ago now! It's always been very therapeutic and I love seeing how the pattern forms to become a finished result. Anything from scarves and beanies, to jumpers, shawls and blankets. My desire now is to design my own patterns and make them available to the interested public!
