Pattern Details

**The Original Cupcake Doll Knit Pattern** This pattern is BEGINNER FRIENDLY! I have been ramping up my knitting skills to take my Crochet Cupcake Doll Pattern and convert it to Knit so that more yarn enthusiasts could enjoy my creation. If you happen to be a child of the 90s like I was, then perhaps this doll will bring back some familiarity. They were a series of dolls with plastic skirts which when turned inside out transformed into edible goodies with their hats becoming the icing. They were also scented. I thought wouldn't they be cute and fun in crochet and knit, too! This pattern is beginner friendly and has instructions to create it flat and in the round so that knitters of any level of experience can create this adorable doll. Some have called it a Topsy-Turvy, reversible, or 2 in 1 doll. This pattern was fully tested by testers with varying levels of experience. This pattern is written in US Terms and measurements. Includes instructions for creating this design flat and in the round, as well as, a Print Friendly version. **DIFFICULTY:** Beginner **SIZE:** Doll – 7” tall when standing (without the hat) Cupcake – 4 ½” tall with frosting **MATERIALS:** – worsted weight yarn in skin color – worsted weight yarn in 1-2 colors for dress (top/skirt) – worsted weight yarn in 2 colors for frosting and cake hat. – worsted weight yarn in hair color – 6mm safety eyes – Polyfil Stuffing – (optional) beads for sprinkles Size US 6 (4.0mm) Double-Pointed Needles (DPNs) or Long Cable using the “Magic Loop Method” (for in round instructions) Size US 6 (4.0mm) Knitting Needles (for flat instructions) **Pattern Stitches:** st(s) - stitch(es) k = knit p = Purl st st - stockinette stitch kfb - knit front and back (increase) k2tog = knit 2 together (decrease) p2tog = purl 2 together (decrease) WS - Wrong Side (typically the purl side) RS - Right Side (typically the knit side) beg - Begin **Copyright** This design, written pattern, and images are a copyright of ©Heather Boyer.
