Cosset and Cossimo are the girl / boy variations of the same pattern and are designed as layering pieces to be worn over long sleeved t-shirts / polyprops. Cosset has picot holes at the increases and waist, Cossimo doesn't have any picot holes and uses the reverse stst for extra texture. I designed this top to be easy for knitter and the child, something to pop on when it's chilly out, a top which will not get in the way of fun. This pattern is an easy knit for most, so long as you have the basic skills you should not have problems. The pattern is available in 8 sizes from 2-16 years, and is worked from the top down, seamlessly and with one size needle only. I have suggested that you use the magic loop method, however feel free to use your favourite method of knitting in the round. I have included a photo tutorial for the provisional cast on, and for my dip dyeing technique, please feel free to research other ways of doing these things - the internet is full of great suggestions and videos! Please use the "child chest" measurement to decide which size to knit, this is your child's bare chest measurement. You can adjust the length from hem to underarm to suit your child. enjoy! I love designing knitwear for babies and older kids too, I'm inspired by the world around me, whether it's the green bush covered hills where I live, or the bright city lights and sparkling harbor. I try to find a way to incorporate traditional, modern and whimsical elements into every garment I design. Children need to be comfortable and relaxed in their clothing, they need the opportunity to jump and run and paint without restriction. I try to design with these qualities in mind.
