Charlize is an elegant yet modern, crescent shaped shawlette that knits up beautifully in both semi-solid and variegated yarns, and can be worn casually or formally. Worked from the top center and outward to the ruffled edging, the lace portion is simple enough for a beginner to lace, while engaging enough for experienced lace knitters looking for a quick, fun knit. The rapid rate of increasing gives this unique accessory enough length to be worn as a scarf & also creates a curved shape that will wrap easily around the shoulders when worn as a shawl. Directions are included for two size options, and are provided in row by row written instruction and chart form. If you like the look of Charlize but love classic triangular shawls, check out Sacha, the triangular interpretation of this pattern! :) BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic lace stitches (YO, SSK, k2tog) GAUGE 20 sts and 32.5 rows = 4"/10 cm in 4x2 rib, unblocked. Getting exact gauge is not critical, but it will affect yardage needed for your shawl. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 66" (168 cm) along top edge and 10" (25 cm) deep at center

Recommended with this pattern

  • 375 (440) yds / 343 (402) m Fingering Weight yarn
