This small shawl is worked from the ribbed hem inward. The ribbing continues through the center spine as the lace mesh angles in on each side. The shawl's unusual shape is due to a dramatic rate of decrease, and it can be worked at the same gauge in either fingering or sport weight yarn. The fingering weight shawl is softer with more drape, while the sport weight shawl is warmer, thicker and slightly smaller (although finished size can be controlled somewhat during blocking). This pattern has fully written and charted directions; and has been tech edited by Kate Atherly. Color, shape, and texture endlessly inspire me. For several years, I’ve been wholly consumed by knittingbecause it’s so forgiving, so flexible, and so free to the imagination. It also fits neatly into spare pockets of space & time, which makes it accessible to me, as designer, knitter, and mother of two busy little girls. I design the majority of what I knit, and self-publish the majority of it via Ravelry and here on Craftsy. The exceptions have been published in Interweave Knits Accessories 2011, Sanguine Gryphon, and with a Calgary-centric yarn club.
