This is a fairly easy pattern. It starts with the cable strip, which is knit flat. Because it varies in width I have written out most of the rows for that part. Just follow along. A small seam joins it. Stitches are then picked up for both the brim and the crown and knit in the round. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit purl cables K2tog GAUGE 20 sts = 4" SUGGESTED YARN 200 yards of Worsted weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Cascade or Plymouth

I grew up surrounded by a family that appreciates art and crafts. I first learned to sew. Then embroider. Then, reluctantly, knitting. I knit every day. and it has been 30 years. I also am a batik on silk artist. Something I have been playing with for over 20 years. And while I have never taken a class I have invented my own personal style.
