...a fancy schmancy way to say "brick and mortar" Worked in a tube that is tied in a knot before grafting the ends together, this piece is knitted in an easy-to-remember stitch pattern. Only one color at a time is used while the other color rests. It's a fun project for sock yarn that doesn't want to be socks. Wear it with the big knot showing or stretch out the knot for a double loop. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Simple 2-color work (slipped sts) knitting in the round on circular needles provisional cast on grafting in kitchener stitch GAUGE 30 sts and 34 rows = 4"/10cm in pattern stitch. Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect yardage and size of finished garment. It may be necessary to unravel gauge swatch and re-use the yarn. Take time to check gauge. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS one size; finished measurements: 11"/28cm tube circumference, 70"/178cm tube length before joining ends together SUGGESTED YARN 700 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Cascade Heritage Paints and Heritage solid, 1 skein of each COLORWAY Shown in (MC) Heritage Paints #9943 Ice Caves and (CC) Heritage #5681 Limestone
