Designed after a beloved book character, this little beanie is a great spring and autumn hat when there is a chill in the air. This project is easily knit in a day from start to finish. It is knit in the round using only the knit stitch (stockinette). The ears require a Turkish Cast-On for a finished appearance from the front or back of the hat, but you can certainly make them differently if desired, maybe doubling the yarn and following the directions (just so they are stiff enough to stand up on the hat). BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit k2tog knitting in the round k1f&b - knit one stitch in the front and back of the loop ssk - slip one stitch, slip the next stitch, knit the two stitches together GAUGE In stockinette stitch: 4 sts and 6 rounds = 1 inch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 0-3mo - circumference 12.5", height 5.5" 4-6mo - circumference 15", height 6.5" 7-24mo - circumference 17.5", height 7" 2-4yrs - circumference 20", height 7.5"

I have been knitting for 60 years and since the grandchildren arrived have been knitting daily. I decided I wanted to create easy predominantly seamless knitting projects because I love knitting in the round, and more important I hate to sew pieces together! I have had many wonderful comments from knitters who have created items from my patterns and like their finished projects, but should you come across a flaw or something that doesn't seem quite right in the instructions, I hope you will contact me! Contact me at with any of your questions or concerns. You are free to sell your finished items, but please give me credit for the pattern. Thank you and happy knitting!
