PATTERN DETAILS

Spring is coming (for those of us in the northern hemisphere anyway) and it's time to think of springtime hats for when there is still a chill in the air. This beanie is the perfect accessory for a cardigan or poncho or to accessorize a special occasion outfit. Instructions for this stretchy little beanie are for the smallest size with additional sizes in parentheses ( ). Knit in cotton for a Spring/Summer beanie or acrylic/wool blend for Fall/Winter. Embellish the beanie with a flower or bow barrette that may easily be removed to launder the beanie. I try to use yarns that are machine washable and dryable. The model is wearing a size 10 - 18 mos. beanie (and is 14 months). Update: Although I have not altered the pattern instructions, my little model is now 22 months, and I made her the same beanie by casting on 52 stitches and following the pattern for the largest size. I also decided to crochet two rounds of single crochet around the brim in a contrasting color (optional). I have been knitting for 60 years and since the grandchildren arrived have been knitting daily. I decided I wanted to create easy predominantly seamless knitting projects because I love knitting in the round, and more important I hate to sew pieces together! I have had many wonderful comments from knitters who have created items from my patterns and like their finished projects, but should you come across a flaw or something that doesn't seem quite right in the instructions, I hope you will contact me! Contact me at woohoopepper@hotmail.com with any of your questions or concerns. You are free to sell your finished items, but please give me credit for the pattern. Thank you and happy knitting!
