This is a fun, quick knitting project! Knit one large rectangle, fold the knitting in half, sew up the side seams, insert the purchased pillow form and then sew up the bottom seam. It's really easy! Detailed finishing instructions included in the pattern with lots of photos. The classic, simple texture of this knitting pattern makes this pillow suitable for many decor styles. This pillow is knit with chunky weight yarn. (In the U.S., chunky weight yarn is classified as "Bulky" on the label.) SKILL LEVEL: Easy You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit and purl confidently, bind off stitches, sew up simple seams and weave in ends. If you have not sewn up seams before, this pattern includes detailed, step-by-step finishing instructions with close-up photos. This pattern is written in standard U.S. knitting terms. I knit this pillow using Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky in blue #140209. This yarn has been discontinued. However, there are many other chunky weight yarns which will work with this pattern. I like Berroco Vintage Chunky. I have been knitting since I was about 8 years old. My mother taught me to knit and my parents encouraged me to explore all kinds of arts & crafts activities by providing me with the materials that I needed to create. As a girl, I loved to sew (I spent hours using my mother’s sewing machine making clothes for my dolls), knit, draw and paint. In high school I spent all my extra time at school hanging out in the art room. In college I worked at a cute little yarn shop. Many years later...I started designing and publishing knitting patterns in November 2013...I love it! I love giving hand knit gifts to my friends and family. I love to see the smile on their faces when they open the gift I made for them. I hope that you enjoy using my knitting patterns to create special projects for your home, friends & family.
