Pattern Details

When you want a warm, practical sock that'll do the job for everyday use, these are the socks for you. They're comfy and will keep your toes toasty when you're taking a hike, splitting firewood, or lazing around the house. They are knit from the top down on double-pointed needles. The heel is constructed with a heel flap. Bottoms of the toes are Kitchener stitch closed. The ribbing helps to keep the socks from bagging around the ankles. This pattern is my adaptation of the pattern I got from my local yarn shop when I bought yarn for my first ever pair of socks. It has served me well for many years and for many, many pairs of socks. Directions are for adult medium. Yarn arts have been a part of my life since my mom taught me to knit when I was 10. My house is full of sweaters, mittens, dish towels, dolls, bath mats, and other items I've knitted or crocheted. Loved ones stay warm with my hand-knitted socks, gloves, hats, and scarves. Many of them are my own designs. I love sharing my creations with other yarn artists.
