A truly versatile piece, this shrug can be worn several ways, including as a keyhole scarf. Named after the Badlands region of the US, with it’s diverse array of geographical features, as well as the gorgeous colorway this sample was knit in. Be sure to choose a soft and luxurious yarn to achieve the perfect amount of drape and this piece will become an instant favorite! Can be worn open and draping, secured with a shawl pin, with cable border around neck or at bottom edge to allow collar to roll. Or, as a great little accent, wrap it around your neck using an armhole to secure in place as a keyhole scarf. Pattern is written for one size (sm/med), as shown, with instructions included to customize arm hole size, length and width. Construction is one piece, from side to side, with no seaming. Front of shrug drapes or wraps and back is cropped and hugs shoulders. Finished measurements, AFTER BLOCKING, for size show: -14 inches from top to bottom edge -41-42 inches from end to end -15 inches across back (from sleeve opening to sleeve opening) -11 inches from front edge to sleeve -17 inches around sleeve/arm hole opening BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You will be required to knit, purl, use a cable needle to create cables, and bind off and cast on stitches GAUGE 19 stitches and 25 rows over 4 inches in reverse stockinette/stockinette stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS pattern instructions written for size shown (women's small/medium) but suggestions included for adjusting length and armhole width.
