Pattern Details

This is a vintage style pixie hat that frames a baby or toddler face beautifully - perfect for the photo album! You can knit it with either a chin strap and button fastening, or with ties and it will suit both a boy or a girl. I have included instructions for both knitting in the round AND knitting flat on two needles. The pattern is a 6 page pdf file with plenty of photos to guide you through all the stages. SIZES 0 - 3 months - fits head circumference up to 14" (35 cm) 3 - 6 months - fits head circumference 14" - 16" (35 - 40 cm) 6 - 12 months - fits head circumference 16" - 18" (40 - 45 cm) 1 - 3 years - fits head circumference 18" - 20" (45 - 50 cm) REQUIREMENTS: 45 - 75 yards (42 - 60 metres) double knit yarn in main colour, depending on size you are knitting 25 - 45 yards (23 - 42 metres) double knit yarn in contrast colour, depending on size you are knitting US size 3 (3.25 mm) knitting needles, either straight or double pointed according to your knitting method US size 6 (4 mm) knitting needles, either straight or double pointed according to your knitting method One 1/2" (12 mm) button if you are making the chin strap version SKILLS NEEDED cast on bind off knit purl increase decrease GAUGE 22sts and 30 rows over 10x10cm (4x4") square in stocking (stockinette) stitch on 4mm (US Size 6) needles
