The baby basics are a set of easy to knit tops and accessories for babies and young children. 4 of the tops are popovers tops with buttons or i-cord ties in place of side seams and sleeves, think fitted poncho or tabard. These tops are easy over the head and make independent dressing so easy for busy little people. All of these garments are suitable for beginners who have access to: the internet, an experienced knitter or a good knitting reference book. All abbreviations are explained and the pattern has been test knitted and tech edited. I love designing knitwear for babies and older kids too, I'm inspired by the world around me, whether it's the green bush covered hills where I live, or the bright city lights and sparkling harbor. I try to find a way to incorporate traditional, modern and whimsical elements into every garment I design. Children need to be comfortable and relaxed in their clothing, they need the opportunity to jump and run and paint without restriction. I try to design with these qualities in mind.
