Appalachia is a stranded color work hat designed to show off variegated sock yarn. While the example shows yarn with long color repeats, yarn with short color repeats, or another solid color would look just as good. I taught myself to knit in 2005, crochet in 2006 and spin in 2010. It seems I have a habit of developing hobbies. Fiber truly is a passion. I've worked at a wool mill, done knitting for a farmers market, worked at a yarn shop, and most recently been the general manager for a yarn company. In the winter of 2012, my pattern inspired by the constellations of the northern hemisphere, Celestarium, was put out by Twist Collective. In 2013 I put out my first book, Lit Knits, which contained 10 patterns inspired by classic literature. I don't see myself stopping any time soon!
