I had so much fun designing and knitting this beautiful, textured set! It looked so good on our beautiful daughter, Amy, that I named it in her honor. I was inspired by a stitch pattern from a sweater I had made and the need to keep warm on yet another cold, January day in Iowa. The texture reminded me of the bark on our Ash tree. An easy to knit honeycomb stitch makes pockets on the inside to trap the warmth against your body. This pattern is for the Amaliya Hat. Creatively planned decreases keep the stitch pattern intact all the way to the top of the hat. There are separate patterns for a capelet, mittens and fingerless mitts to match. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY cast on, knit, purl, decrease, increase, slip stitch GAUGE 20sts/4inches in honeycomb stitch pattern on larger size needles SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 19" after blocking. Stretches to fit a 22" head easily.
