Wave Necklace & Earrings

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? The over all design of this piece is simple yet striking. Contemporary design with a slight funky feel. Light weight and comfortable to wear. I teach classes and my students have really enjoyed making this piece. What advice would you give someone starting this project? When working with wire, mark the location on your pliers where you place the wire to make the bend. This way all bends will be the same. I used step pliers on this piece. The large side alternates with the small side to make the wave design. After the main section is shaped I hammered this slightly to harden the wire. This hammering also gives you a slightly flat surface to wrap your 24 gauge wire to when adding your beads.

What you will need

  • nickel coated copper wire
  • stainless steel wire
  • round flat beads

Q&A with roycecreative

cats-create asked:
I'm just about to teach a workshop on wire wrapping - would you mind if I show the class your project to inspire them?
roycecreative answered:
Oh please do - I think it would be an easy 1st or 2nd project
FoxDesigns asked:
These earrings are awesome! the round flat beads, are they like a coin bead or more of a puffed coin bead? Excellent work!
roycecreative answered:
they are more puffed - almost as if a round bead was squished (sorry for my not so technical terms)
Beading Barbara asked:
