Jimboslady asked:
This is beautiful. Is the stoned maintained by the wire wrapping only? I have several stones that I would like to wear as a necklace but they do not have holes in them for the wire to go through. Can they be stabilized and maintained through wire wrapping alone? If I took the class on Craftsy, would I learn enough to do this myself?????? I would appreciate any info/advice you might share with me.
Abby Hook answered:
Thank you!! This particular stone is top drilled, but I have set many undrilled stones using this technique and the wirework holds them firmly in place, It is important to get the length of the prong right, so that they fold slightly over the top of the stone, grasping it firmly in position. Absolutely yes, you can learn to do this yourself from my tutorial here on Craftsy, it is very detailed, with step by step instruction and lots of clear colour photos, guiding you through from start to finish. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions :)
