Light Weight Bib - Steam Punk

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? It just feels great when you wear it - so light weight you hardly know you have it on and it looks soooo heavy. What advice would you give someone starting this project? When using a disk cutter place it on a very firm surface and use a large hammer. I use a small sledge hammer. You have to hit the cutter hard and try to only hit it once. This may take some practice. I was used to tapping my metal to add texture but with this you want to really HIT it hard to drive the cutter into the metal.

What you will need

  • Aluminum flat metal and watch parts

Oh thanks so much. I've just started playing around with aluminum, I normally use copper and brass. I also plan on making a belt from these in the near future.

Love this - I made a similar type in a bracelet for my jewelry class final project. Wish I'd seen yours first though for inspiration. Fantastic design!
roycecreative answered:
thanks - this was so fun to make and so light weight - also no worries about sealing the metal due to it not turning or tarnishing
