Q&A with Susan Bowerman

TjeCan asked:
Nice!!!! I have been watching the clay class but haven't tried anything yet. You have inspired me to plunge soon!
Susan Bowerman answered:
I had a hard time finding materials so it took me a little while to get started, too. Thank you TjeCan. I thought this would be easier than it has been for me but I am getting more comfortable now. I ordered a bunch of clay directly from Aves Studio. Check out their site!
jld asked:
Is the epoxy clay the main part in the pendant? How did you give it the mother-of-pearl look?
Susan Bowerman answered:
Hi JLD, In this pie e I used the clay only as an adhesive. It is mother-of-pearl held together by the clay. I have used the clay in other ways but in this piece, consider it "glue."
jld asked:
Meant to say-- just beautiful!
Susan Bowerman answered:
Than you so much!

Susan Bowerman answered:
Thank you so much, Donna.
therockhou421482 asked:
Very nice work! Love the vintage look and the technique sounds interesting. Where did you get the focal pendant?
Susan Bowerman answered:
Thank you. I made the focal pendant with a scrapbook blank, mother of pearl rectangle beads, and a bar bead. Essentially, the focal consists of 8 parts, 6 mother of pearl beads, and the other two metal parts. Thank you so much for asking.
