Project

Ellie Ring

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? I think I love the simplicity of this look. I simply hammered round wire, bent the wire strategically to fit comfortably around the finger, soldered it for some stability in several places & added the recycled, bezel set diamonds. Voila!

What you will need

  • 14k gold
  • diamonds

Q&A with Kieran

Sunnybroo39307 asked:
Awesome! Very pretty, especially when being made for a unique application! I'd love to try my hand at something like that, as I have the same problem and am into jewelry making as well!
Kieran answered:
It's kind of nice to have both a pretty and functional piece! Good luck with the jewelry making! I've done it for almost 25 years. I'm still not making any money at it! So it goes....
abcmadre asked:
Absolutely beautiful! I only do a bit of wire wrapping & beading myself - so I am in awe of anyone with the equipment and patience to solder anything. I've never heard of using recycled diamonds - where can I get more information on that? Thanks for sharing!
Kieran answered:
I have a fair amount of patience - depending on the day! The "recycled" diamonds were from another ring that my friend had and never wore. I simply took them out of one ring and put them in another. Sorry for the confusion on that. You would be surprised how much you can do with a minimal amount of equipment!
Celestra asked:
I've had arthritis since childhood and understand well your friends predicament. Now you have given me an idea that might just work for me as well. As for now making money at it yet, you are making close friendships and they pay us the best. We just can't put it in the bank.
Kieran answered:
;)

Thank you!
