Claying Around bracelet

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? I am getting the technique down using the buffer. I am finding the amount of contact that really creates a high glass shine. The caning techniques are a real art. I am just beginning that process so I need a lot of work there yet! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take a class from an expert to get started. I wasted a lot of time and clay trying to teach myself and this is a skill that needs an expert to show you the ropes and pitfalls.

What you will need

  • Polymer clay
  • amethyst and rose quartz beads
  • copper tubes and findings.

Q&A with TjeCan

Shoestring asked:
Bravo. You made a gorgeous bracelet. I'm just a beginner making polymer clay beads. Have you seen Donna Kato's wonderful illustrated book on millefiori? Love her book.
TjeCan answered:
I haven't seen her book. Our bead society hosted her classes a couple of years ago and people loved them. We hosted Karen Lewis (Klew) last year and that is the class I took. She has some great DVDs as well. Thanks. Clay is a very versatile medium. It will take years to learn it all!!!
