3 Shell Pendants Necklace

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the chain I created to go with this piece. I used 14 gauge wire and fused them into round links. Each link was individually, cut, fused, textured, and polished by hand. I used 18 gauge wire and managed to create key ring shapes to connect the 14 gauge links together. The key rings were also cut, polished, and patina'd by hand. The edges were also rounded off with a wire rounding tool. The clasp was also hand created, I fused the round edges, but kept foiling the edges, so I managed to create key ring shape with them too - to match the chain. It was lots of fun. What advice would you give someone starting this project? When making this project, I took the long road. Sheet metal or bezel wire probably would have suited just fine for the shell pendants. I also could have purchased pre-made bezel and come out with something more uniform.
