I really enjoy making viking knit jewelry, and have made many a chain, LOL. But I wanted to take viking knit to the next level -- to embellish the chains so they catch the eye! I've used several techniques in this ebook tutorial. You get to include beads in your viking knit, as well as put beads on top. You'll see how to join two short pieces of chain to make a longer one, and top it off with a beaded bead. You'll also find out about the "caterpillar effect" -- how to make a knit overlay on a viking knit chain Oh and before I forget -- I also show a triple-knit project. So if you love viking knit, why not add more pizazz to the jewelry? Get a copy of Viking Knit Jewelry Embellishments! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You should know how to make a viking knit chain. It is also helpful (but not necessary) if you know peyoye and right angle weave beading stitches. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Bracelets average 7" + clasp length; can easily be lengthened or shortened.

Recommended with this pattern

  • wire, seed beads, crystal pearls, end caps
  • clasps, jump rings, needle, thread, dowels

I saw some beautiful jewelry and the owner told me she had made it herself. From that point on, I have explored just about every beaded jewelry technique I can -- bead weaving stitches, loom weaving, stringing, bead crochet, get the idea, LOL!
