Use a variety of shaped seed beads to frame and embellish a rivoli, resulting in a beautifully intricate pendant. You will use twin beads to make the fastest and easiest bezel ever, use them some more of them to extend the flange, and use small seed beads, magatamas and farfalle to stiffen and decorate the frame, and then finally attach a ring on which to thread your necklace. The instructions include three variations: a small version in which the final round is omitted, and two versions of the final round, one using fire-polished beads instead of seed beads for a more substantial and less delicate pendant. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY square stitch right angle weave peyote stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS version 1 is 1.5" across version 2 is 2" across

Supplies Needed

  • 14mm rivoli (1)

I can neither imagine nor remember a time when I wasn't making things. I have tried almost every fiber art, and currently knit and spin my own yarn. I sew clothes and furnishings occasionally. I've dabbled in polyclay, lampwork and silver-smithing, but immerse myself in seed beading. I teach at a local bead store, as well at national shows from time to time. Patterns in my shop are by and large based on classes I have taught, so they've been tested on real people!
