I am a busy Mum of 3, but jewellery, costuming, gardening & yoga are my passions! I've always had an interest in craft, but textiles, fashion design & sewing dominated until I discovered beading. I took to making jewellery for myself, often combining beading & glass techniques & soon started getting requests from family & friends.. I joined a local lapidary club & learnt to "cab" stones. I have completed workshops in Metal clay, resin & lampwork beads. I am self taught in making hot dichroic glass & glass slumping & currently do wire wrapping & silver work workshops.. In 2007 I was so thrilled to get 3rd place in the Swarovski Australasian Challenge, Highly Commended in the Maria George 50th Anniversary Comp & Creative Beading comp. I also had my work published many times in beading magazines, exibited in shows, won many of the local show titles! I am always so excited to get recognition for my creations. In 2008 I was very ill & recovered at home for many months, beading was ideal as a therapy. I've recently completed a Bach of Ed & I am now a textiles & technology teacher. I love Craftsy, which I found through Facebook, especially the tutorials that I can access at anytime of the day or night, whenever I have a spare moment!. It is a constant source of inspiration & saves my sanity!
