Luc, this project came from a mug rug pattern in my shop - just click on the link above in 'Pattern Info'. The pattern is for a mug rug measuring 9" x 5.5". It would be relatively easy to add a border to the mug rug to create a placemat. You could do this after step 9 in the pattern. You could then quilt and bind them to finish. Hope this helps.
