What type of piece is this? Drawing Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. 2B pencil, 9 x 12 Canson Field Sketchbook What are you most proud of? As I walked around, drawing circles for my trees, I proudly noticed the details I missed that would have made the sketch more realistic. Some of the trees were much closer to the front that I depicted them. Their branches in the canopy needed to be brought forward helping create the depth I was seeking. Also, I did not accent the terrain. As an old riverbed, it rises up rather steeply on the right, the far end sloped more gradually and the bed turns to the left through an opening in the trees. I drew these rises on my birds eye view. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I could not figure out how this lesson was going to help my draw better landscapes. As I walked the area of the sketch I had previously drawn, the circles really brought the actual width and depth of the different items I had drawn. I could envision sketching, placing more emphasis on forefront trees and bushes as connected to the canopy. Because of the undergrowth, I could not get any farther to sketch the birds eye view. In reality, I suppose this tells me these things are in the background and should not be my primary focus.
