Tatted filigree, tatting, frivolite

Project Description

What are you most proud of? It worked! What advice would you give someone starting this project? This pattern works for the particular filigrees that I had. Since all filigree findings are different, I pass along the challenge to invent your own design around a filigree.

What you will need

  • Brass 5/8" filigrees
  • Lizbeth thread size 20
  • size 11 Delicas beads.

Q&A with Marilee Rockley

would something like this take to do?
Marilee Rockley answered:
It would take an experienced tatter about an hour to make the pair, just as a ballbark estimate.

I can tat without beads, but now the only thing I want is to tat with beads :)) please help.
Marilee Rockley answered:
Several methods of tatting with beads are taught in the Shuttle Tatting class here on Craftsy. It begins with the basics but several advanced techniques are covered in the later lessons of the course.
Rohin asked:
Very beautiful
Marilee Rockley answered:
Thank you! This type of design is actually very easy to tat.
cyn99rob99 asked:
This is so beautiful. I've just started the shuttle tatting course and I'm so excited about the possibilities. I like the idea of being able to create my own designs around something like you have done here. I have so much to learn!
Marilee Rockley answered:
Glad to hear that you're in the class! Yes, once the basics are learned (it'll take a bit of practice for the double stitch to become easy) there are so many possibilities. Don't forget to post your photos!
