Lacy Scarves

Project Description

What was your source for this crocheting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Shimmer Lace Scarf Link to website or photo www.redheart.com/free-patterns/shimmer-lace-scarf What are you most proud of? I am happiest with the dark purple version I made with Lion Wool-Ease yarn. I made it narrower by leaving off two of the shells in each row. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I am currently making another one using the Chocolate Red Heart Shimmer yarn that the pattern calls for. It feels real soft (unlike many Red Heart yarns) and looks good so far. But feel free to use your own favorite yarn, as long as it is soft. Sport and DK weight yarns will work well also.

What you will need

  • Dark purple scarf: Lion Wool-Ease wool/acrylic yarn
  • Maroon scarf: Impeccable (Michael's brand) acrylic yarn
  • Blue scarf: cotton/rayon blend from Czech Republic

Q&A with Debbie C.

queamore112 asked:
how do you do the slip stitch in to the last shell?
Debbie C. answered:
The pattern reads "slip stitch in same chain as last shell". It means to make a slip stitch in the same chain as you made the last shell in. Then in the next row, the pattern says "shell in same chain as slip stitch". So what you will have done, in the last instructions of the first row and first instructions of the second row, is to make a shell, a slip stitch, and another shell in the very first chain you made at the beginning. I hope that explanation helps :)
