PATTERN DETAILS

Do you have a "friendly" dentist? Is your "baby" ready to lose a tooth? Here is the PERFECT gift . . . a smiling tooth ! ! ! ! ! The tooth can be used as a potholder or, as the dental students I have given it to use it, a coaster. The double thickness both protects your hands from the heat of a dish out of the oven AND it absorbs the moisture from a glass of liquid. Wait, you say, but how can a tooth be made cute? Add some hair. I have used bells, but it would look just as cute with fun-fur . . . you know the Tooth Fairy would have this type of a coaster. Don't you? No matter how you finish this potholder.coaster off. I can guarantee the recipient will smile and remember you every time they use it. I always like to give babies a handmade gift . . . AND . . . I like to wrap their gifts up in receiving blankets. This is a combination of the two . . . a receiving blanket with a handmade edging. Now, receiving blankets aren't the only place this edging could be used. I can see it on sheets, pillowcases, table cloths, runners, etc, etc, etc. The edging is attached to the blanket with a crocheted foundation round . . not the normal button hole stitch. This makes it easier for crocheters . . . now they don't need to learn the buttonhole stitch for edgings. I always like to give babies a handmade gift . . . AND . . .
