Does your little girl need a hat for that time of the year when it is too cold to go out without one, but to warm for a winter hat? This is what you want . . add a little Sun into her life with this Sun Flower hat. The crown is solid while the sides are an open shell pattern. The brim is wide enough that it will keep those beginning of spring or end of fall sun rays out of her face. The flower can be attached to the hat with a pin, instead of sewn on. This way, you can change the looks of the hat. If you need to add ribbons to tie the hat on, that is another option. No matter what you end up doing, this is a cute hat for a cute little girl. You will need 1 full skein of the main hat color and a half of a skein for the trim. I always like to give babies a handmade gift . . . AND . . . I like to wrap their gifts up in receiving blankets. This is a combination of the two . . . a receiving blanket with a handmade edging. Now, receiving blankets aren't the only place this edging could be used. I can see it on sheets, pillowcases, table cloths, runners, etc, etc, etc. The edging is attached to the blanket with a crocheted foundation round . . not the normal button hole stitch. This makes it easier for crocheters . . . now they don't need to learn the buttonhole stitch for edgings. 100% of the purchase price for the pattern goes to no-kill animal shelters in Western New York or Indiana.
