PATTERN DETAILS

I'm always on the lookout for vintage cloches and am invariably disappointed when they're too small to fit my head. This crocheted version gives the requisite sleek look and the single crochet stitch lends necessary structure, keeping the iconic cloche shape even as it stretches to fit the wearer's head. A cluster of buttons finishes off the vintage look. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY chain stitch single crochet GAUGE 4" = 14 sts and 12 rounds in Single Crochet Note: yarns shown usually knit at 16 sts to 4" in Stocking Stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS child(adult small, adult medium, adult large, adult extra large) Circumference: 17"(19", 20.5", 22.25", 24")

Recommended with this pattern

  • 140(160, 190, 210, 240) yards aran weight yarn

Kira K Designs
Kira K Designs is a line of original knitting and crochet patterns with a streamlined and eminently wearable aesthetic. Research on historical clothing, which Kira did during her former career as a theatrical costume designer, is a strong influence on her design sense, and many patterns reference styles from the 1920s through the 1960s. Kira's family history of Danish Modern furniture design is also an important influence on her patterns, resulting in garments and accessories with clean lines and intriguing details that are both interesting to make and easy to wear.
