PATTERN DETAILS

These lovely fingerless mitts work up fast using easy double crochet and shell stitches. The mitts are worked in one piece starting at the palm, which is worked in double crochet stitches. A few stitches are skipped as the mitt is worked and the thumb added after the mitt is complete. The shell stitches start at the wrist, and, even though the instructions are for mitts 9.5 inches long, you could keep adding rounds of shell stitches to make them longer. US crochet terminology. Crochet With Attitude
I have been crocheting since I was a teenager and started designing crochet patterns several years later. I wanted to make a sweater for my daughter and I couldn't read the crochet patterns. I later taught myself to read patterns. The first pattern I sold was a square sampler baby afghan to Crochet World and I haven't stopped designing since. I also make one-of-a-kind freeform crochet scarves and sell them in my Etsy shop, on Ebay, and at local arts and craft sales.
