PATTERN DETAILS

Our Time to Shine Shawl is a gorgeous, spring or summer fashion accessory! It's easy enough for a beginner to make, and is a fabulous travel project! Worked in GORGEOUS Crystal Palace Yarns Danube DK, a cotton blend yarn, it's a fabulous project to work on when the weather turns hotter! The shape is a BIG, shallow crescent - starting at the top, the sample used every inch of five full skeins of Danube yarn and light blocking, my shawl measures 20" deep by 80" across - and I easily could have made it 90" with a bit more blocking. Stitches used are single crochet, double crochet, shells and V-stitches. Pattern is rated advanced beginner. Shawl can easily be made to other sizes, using any weight of yarn, any size hook and any gauge. Be aware, however, that this shape does use a LOT of yarn - for a full sized shawl, plan on at least 600 yards of DK or sport weight yarn. Many thanks to my testers, marjos, pandastamper, Blacky67, kbowman123, ctarski, tinkershell, Lisamarie9456 and Lisbeil, and to my tech editor, the amazing Anne McFarland annewithyarn@gmail.com. My name is Anastacia, and I am the scrap yarn/one skein queen. I buy my yarn mainly at yard sales/thrift stores, so I got used to making do with what I could find. So most of my patterns are designed to use up the odd skeins or leftovers in your life, and are geared towards beginner crocheters or those who just want a fast, easy, but still pretty item. I'm a 30 something adult living in MA. I’m married, have a wonderful cat named Wedgie, & I work full time. I also teach knitting & crocheting at my local Michael's & squeeze in designing as many hours as I can a week. I do love to hear from everyone, but please remember that I am busy, just like you, & will reply as soon as I can. All of my patterns use USA terms & abbreviations. I try to layout my patterns as simply as possible to save money for people printing at home. My patterns are as short as possible, usually with only one photo on the first page, which you can easily skip printing to save ink. .
