PATTERN DETAILS

My sister in law photographer wanted a pair of these hats for a twin photo shoot. So I looked at some pictures of these hat and decided to make up my own. Here is what a did. It's kind of 1/2 Tutorial, 1/2 Pattern. Materials - A size I crochet hook, 1 skein of each color. I used Lion Brand Nature's Choice Organic Cotton in strawberry & almond. This yarn is marked as level 4 worsted weight. It had a bumpy texture and seemed closer to a level 5 in bulkiness to me. This hat is 37 inches from end of tail to bottom of the ribbed brim and about 12 inches in circumference. The pattern is sized for an infant, but there are directions on making the hat bigger. *Please follow all Craftsy instructions for purchasing patterns. I do not give refunds for any reason. Even if you accidentally purchase a pattern more than once. It costs me more money to issue a refund than I receive from your purchase. When in doubt you can email me at cclpiper@gmail.com. I am a homeschooling mom of one who has been known to crochet while giving spelling tests! I first learned to crochet and knit from my grandmother. It seemed to me that her hands were always busy with something! As I got older and began college and working full-time, crafting fell by the wayside for me. That is until one day when I was facing a 7 day car trip. I knew audiobooks and itunes would only get me through so many days. I spent some time trying to find something portable and fun to help me pass the time. I stumbled upon a set of crochet hooks I had purchased about a year ago with the intention of picking up crochet again. Armed with that set of hooks, a few skeins of yarn and a few online patterns and tutorials I had printed out, I was ready to take on the road trip. I finished my first 3 baby hats in 2 days. After that I was hooked. When I showed the hats to my photographer sister in law, she turned me on to the photography prop baby hat craze and I have been designing hats & headbands ever since. My renewed interest inspired my blog & Etsy shop. I really enjoy coming up with original designs and finding a new ways to combine stitches in interesting patterns. I am learning new techniques all the time and have rediscovered my creative side! I also sew a bit, but I love crochet for it's unique textures, portability, and calming effect. I am always available for questions and comments on my blog & Facebook. I love helping other get started in crochet!
