This hard hat and mining set will make play time explosive! The mining helmet with light will help the kids make their way through tunnels and mines so they can see where their going and where to place the dynamite. Caution: once you make one stick of dynamite, your kids will ask for more! Are you prepared to make a big stash of dynamite? If so, you'll want to make the blasting box for a really Big Bang and the wood crate to store the dynamite between jobs. Hard Hat The hard hat is crocheted in the round with super bulky yarn to give it durability and stiffness. The helmet has an adjustable strap with button inside making it One-Size-Fits-All* from baby to adult women. *For newborns and babies, crochet in baby yarn. Dynamite The dynamite is also crocheted in the round. You can make them as long as you like (8" is standard). We have instructions for creating a wick to "light" individual sticks or a long wire and blasting cap which is used with a detonator box. Detonator Box For really big blasts, you want to be as far away as possible. So, use a long wire and blasting box to get the job done. The detonator box has a handle that really moves up and down like a real blasting box. There's a strap for carrying the box to the job site. As well as two wing nuts (that really twist) for attaching the "copper" wire. The pattern uses a wavy stitch to create a wood grain feel. You'll crochet cozies for cardboard to create the box shape. Crochet around a wood dowel and chopstick to create the handle. Wood Dynamite Crate The wood crate will store your dynamite between jobs and make it easier to carry a large amount of explosives to your next job. The crate is crocheted with two shades of beige to give it a real wood grain look. Crochet cozies for cardboard to create the box shape. A couple of hinges and lettering will finish off the authentic look of the dynamite crate. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY crochet in the round GAUGE 5 stitchs and 5 rows = 2 inches of single crochet SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Hat is one-size-fits-all with an adjustable strap inside that fits babies to adult women.

Yarnovations designs innovative crochet patterns for Yarnivore's. We have quirky and fun crochet designs for the whole family. We are the Yarn Twins, Deborah Bagley and Dana Bincer. We have been crocheting since the mid 1980's...when our grandmother taught us how to crochet. But we didn't honestly crochet much until 2010. We gravitate to fun, whimsical, realistic type designs. Maybe they're a little quirky, too. Mostly, we want to have fun with this craft and inspire others to see how unique and enjoyable crochet can be as well. We do charge a little for our patterns. We purposefully keep the price point low so that more people can enjoy our designs. Though the patterns are economical, the quality of our patterns is top notch. We include photos, gauge info, supply list, special stitch instructions, special notes unique to each pattern, checkboxes next to each row (so you can keep track of what row you've done) and more. All of our purchased patterns are for the buyers eyes only. But we fully grant you permission to sell or give away your finished handiwork. Please credit when you share your homemade items. We wish you many happy hours crocheting and a few pennies in your pocket (if you sell your crocheted items).
