PATTERN DETAILS

Jane Austen! Who doesn't love it? This is a nod to the empire waisted beauties that girls and women wore back in that day and age. The color isn't quite so vintage, but is definitely fun! I made this dress with wool yarn, thinking to wear it in fall or winter, but it could so obviously be made with cotton and worn in the summer and spring. I might just have to make myself another one! The pattern is written so that you can customize it for any size without any complicated calculating or mathematics. The main piece is made by crocheting side to side, so you simply work more or less of the repeat pattern to make it fit around you; when it fits you, you stop repeating, finish the rest of the dress. Super simple, BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY single crochet double crochet chaining esc (extended single crochet) sc in bk lp (single crochet in back loop) GAUGE 7st/8 rows in sc/sc in bk lp = 2" SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS circumference of bodice = 31" length from front neckline to bottom edge = 40" circumference of arm holes = 11 1/2" neckline width = 8 1/2"

I love to crochet, can't seem to stop doing it since I learned to single crochet in college 11 years ago to keep from falling asleep in a 7 AM class. It was all down hill from there.....or maybe its all been uphill since then?!?!?! Not sure, just know I love my hooks and don't see myself letting them go any time soon. I am a huge fan of vintage styles, the roaring 20s, 30s and 40s in particular, so you'll find some influence from those periods in my designs, but also tons of other things. Feminine, fun, useful, and as much as possible, versatility in function, are the things that always seem to crop up in my patterns.
