The Carnival Beanie is a light, close fitting and perfect Autumn hat for men or women. Make it colourfully bright to reflect its name or go for more subtle tones if that is more your style. Easily adjusted to fit and fun to make. Pattern suited to a confident beginner but equally interesting for a more experienced crocheter. Finished Size/Gauge: Finished size goes from 21 inches/53 cms unstretched to 24 inches/61 cms stretched, approximately, and will fit the majority of teenager and adult heads. Gauge is not critical because of the 'stretch factor' if you would like a particularly large diameter hat then go up a hook size or two, bearing in mind that more yarn will be required. The length is easily adjusted by repeating the rounds 28 and 29. Method: The Carnival Beanie is made from the top down starting with a magic loop and worked in the round, without turning, and all in one piece, to eliminate seaming. Also available as part of the Hats! Hats! Hats! eBook. Can be ordered as a ready made item in any colourway.
