My cousin was having a baby and we were not sure if it was a girl or a boy. So from my own experience of being told I was having a girl (didn't happen had a BOY!) I decided to make the blanket in more neutral colors so it could be used for either boy or girl. I had seen lots of patterns done with squares and I really liked the look so I decided to design my own. I wanted to leave it just at the squares, but after I got it all together you could tell on the back where I had sewn it together and I didn't want that to look that way, so I made a back panel. A more experienced crocheter may know how to get this to look better. I starting crocheting in Jan of 2011. My mother in law taught me, then my cousin taught me some more stitches. every since then I have been finding new patterns and making several things. A lot of my patterns I have found on the red heart website and some I have made on my own as I go along. I have sold a few of my projects and I am just looking for a way to make a little extra money to help me to continue to crochet. Also check out my website.
