PATTERN DETAILS

This is a very simple, beginner's vest pattern. The pattern is a one row repeat & is charted. The vest starts at the bottom, & is worked in one piece until you get to the underarms. The vest is then divided into the two front pieces & the back piece, & then seamed at the shoulders. Anika looks good in both solid & multi color versions. It is designed with 2-4" of positive ease in mind, so you can easily wear this as a layering piece. Spud & Chloe Sweater is a cotton & wool blend, making this a great 3 season vest. The main stitch pattern uses single crochet, double crochet, and chain stitches. Pattern also includes a schematic. I named this vest after my beautiful friend, Anika, who is also my model in the first two photos you see. Buttons are optional: I do not give directions for making buttonholes, but the stitch is very open, making it easy to add buttons or closure any place you'd like, & simply close through the lace pattern. Thank you to June Gilbank (http://www.planetjune.com) for her tech editing/charting skills, & to Anika Pecyna for being my lovely model! As always I couldn't do it without all of you. Feel free to make as many of these as you like for local craft fairs/auctions/raffles/bazaars, but please do not sell finished items online. The pattern itself is not for sale. If making for charity, please let me know the name of the charity & include my contact info with the item (anastaciaknits on Ravelry). If you have any questions or comments or just want to join like-minded souls & / or join in some testing (mainly crochet patterns) please join my Ravelry group at http://www.ravelry.com/groups/anastacia-knits-designs. Anastacia Knits Designs
My name is Anastacia, and I am the scrap yarn/one skein queen. I buy my yarn mainly at yard sales/thrift stores, so I got used to making do with what I could find. So most of my patterns are designed to use up the odd skeins or leftovers in your life, and are geared towards beginner crocheters or those who just want a fast, easy, but still pretty item. I'm a 30 something adult living in MA. I’m married, have a wonderful cat named Wedgie, & I work full time. I also teach knitting & crocheting at my local Michael's & squeeze in designing as many hours as I can a week. I do love to hear from everyone, but please remember that I am busy, just like you, & will reply as soon as I can. All of my patterns use USA terms & abbreviations. I try to layout my patterns as simply as possible to save money for people printing at home. My patterns are as short as possible, usually with only one photo on the first page, which you can easily skip printing to save ink. .
