Skill level: Intermediate A timeless beanie to show your love. Using the Fair Isle technique this beanie will fit all ages and can be made in all colors. The ones pictured are just a touch of the combinations you can create. Fair Isle is a technique where two colors are used in any particular row to create pictures or designs in your project. Don't know how to do Fair Isle? Don't worry, there is an extensive photo tutorial section (13 pages!!!) that will not only teach you how to create Fair Isle but also covers all of this: 1. Color Changing throughout the beanie including at the round join. 2. Catching the yarn to create short floats. 3. How to keep your yarn untangled. 4. Photo tutorial of stitches used on beanie brim. 5. How to keep your seam straight on your beanie. 6. How to make a magic adjustable loop. Sizes Included are: Baby: 15" circumference Child: 17" circumference Woman: 20" circumference Man: 22" circumference The beanie includes full written instructions as well as a color chart for the Fair Isle portion. In the pattern I have listed the yarn used in the picture but you can really use any lightweight or fingering yarn in any color you like. HEY EVERYONE! I’M DEJA JETMIR, THE DESIGNER BEHIND CROCHET EVER AFTER. Sign up for my newsletter. I offer new patterns at 50% for the first week with promo codes exclusive to the newsletter. Click here to sign up now (copy and paste if not clickable): READ ON TO LEARN A LITTLE ABOUT ME. How long you been crocheting? From the time I learned from my great-grandmother until now — over 25 years. Actual time crocheting (my 20s were a blur of school, work and debt, having a stash was not an option)– probably about 15. How’d you start designing? I got pregnant. I picked up the hook to make some stuff. I realized I liked designing rather than following a pattern, now I’ve been doing it over 6 years. Favorite yarn? Self striping in beautiful vibrant colors Where ya from? I spent the better part of my life in Southern California, and while I miss Disneyland and the predictable weather, I find that moving around from place to place a more interesting adventure. Currently I’m living with my family in the Bay Area but that will probably soon change as my husband’s military orders do. Update: I’m not back in Southern California for at least the next year. We’ll see where the Navy takes us next.
