Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Buttercream, fondant and cake with raspberry filling. What are you most proud of? This was my first wedding cake with fondant and first topsy turvy cake. I was thrilled with the final results! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Allow yourself plenty of time to put this one together, about three days in total, not counting the baking. Also, be prepared for the 'waste' in doing a topsy turvy cake. It took pounds of buttercream and fondant and then having to cut away a good portion of it to accommodate the topsy turvy design was very wasteful. In retrospect, I would do things differently to save materials. I also used the "Cakestackers" system to put this together which took me time to figure out how to construct. When completed it was moved all in one piece and made it to the venue all in one piece! I watched a lot of videos on YouTube on how to do the topsy turvy and fondant successfully. I learned a lot on this one and very proud of the final product...and so was the Bride!
