I was very pleased that for a first attempt at this fondant technique that the cake turned out as well as it did. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't make the fondant ribbons too far in advance ( especially the curly ones). I made mine 3 days before making the cake. When I put the cake together I found that the fondant had dried too much, wasn't very pliable and I had a lot of breakage.
