Make your own lace mould

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Silicone mould making kit and sugar paste What are you most proud of? These are just my first attempts, playing around in the kitchen. Before I would have just used the mould, but Joshua shows results when you also cut out. Really simple, why hadn't I thought of that??? Not final product as I'd like to pipe over some of the detail with Royal Icing (but I don't have any made up). Next time! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid of the mould making silicone. You have plenty of time. Do think about what you want to make. The kits are not cheap and I have ended up making lots of moulds I'll probably never even use.

What you will need

Wow! I love these!!! I could have used that butterfly for Modern Buttercream!
CakeBakerMoney answered:
I'm sure I could do a better final versn as this was an old bit of fondant kicki around in my tool box. Think it would look really pretty in white and dried on a former. Great tutorials. Love all three!!!

love these could use these on my cakes
CakeBakerMoney answered:
Have a go! Very easy. Sat making leaf veiners last night. Much much cheaper than buying ones already made and sometimes you can't get what you want anyway, Bit addictive, though!!!
feda asked:
where can i buy those moulds from
CakeBakerMoney answered:
You have to make the molds yourself. It's demonstrated in Joshua's tutorial, Fashion Inspired Findant. You can also buy the bold making kits through Craftsy. You then buy your lace applique and make your mold. Very simple!!
