Q&A with Sally Ryan

MissMarple asked:
This is beautiful and so festive! I love pink too and as it also looks delicious I can't wait to try this (I might start with cupcakes to get the hang of making the flowers first : ) Are the 'pearl' flower centers edible? Where did you find them? Thank you for sharing this lovely project.
Sally Ryan answered:
Yes the are edible. You can get tham from most cake decorating shops. They are just like the silver ones you can get.
micksmom2 asked:
Your cake is gorgeous! My niece is marrying next spring and wants a cherry blossom cake. Your cake is very inspiring!
Sally Ryan answered:
Thank you :-)
cherivt asked:
my problem is knowing what to charge when I have put so much time into a cake. I'm always afraid to charge what is is worth. How many would this feed and what would you charge for a cake like this to give me an idea,
Sally Ryan answered:
This is only a small cake for arround 30 people. I would charge $180 -$210.. The flowers are fast once you get set up. But if they took a long time i would charge more.
AmberFlame asked:
Beautiful! Simplicity works! How far ahead could you make all of those blossoms and keep them for?
Sally Ryan answered:
realy I would like about two weeks.. That way they do not get too hard. but if they are stored in a dry clean box they can last for as long as they are dry.
Queen City asked:
Striking.... are the edges of your cake boards covered in ribbon or something else?
Sally Ryan answered:
Yes that is just pink ribbon..
