Project Description

What was your source for this recipe? Online recipe What is the name of the online recipe? Gumpaste tiara/crown pattern posted on cakecental.com Link to the recipe cakecentral.com/t/672339/how-do-i-make-a-gumpaste-tiara-crown Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Buttercream and fondant covered cake; melted chocolated and chocolate mold for the star and princess mold; royal icing tiara; pme fondant cutters and dragees. The diamond design was made with a ruler and triangle. I also used Wilton's imprint mat for the board. What are you most proud of? Though the work is not perfect, I'm proud of the diamond design on the side. Initially, I was nervous about doing that without a pattern, but my daughter encouraged me and actually believed I could do it. I'm glad I did. Phew! Another first for me! What advice would you give someone starting this project? I had a bad case of sweaty fondant after I covered the cake with fondant. I paniced a bit, but left the cake alone after I went online and read the advice of knowlegeable cakers. By the time I finally got back to it the sweat had dried up and I was able to work with it. Thanks to all you cakers :) You never know how far you can go unless you try! Take that first step!
