Baby Mickey 1st Birthday Cake

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake The oval shaped cake was decorated to match a Baby Mickey party theme. Fondant was used to cover the tiered cake. Mouse shapes are of fondant/gum paste mixture on cookie and pop sticks. Edible glitter was used to outline some of the mickey shapes. The baby's cake was made separately of whipped cream covered cake with fondant cut-outs applied, sitting on a custom shaped plate made of gum paste. This cake with plate was to sit on top of the second tier of the fondant cake for final photos (I don't have one of those yet).

Loved your cake!
cakeartisan answered:
Thanks for the encouraging feedback--I don't have the opportunity to make children's cakes that often, so this was a lot of fun.
I.Am.Joy asked:

TyphoonJune asked:
Love this cake and the colors.
cakeartisan answered:
Thanks--it really was a cute design. The colors were matching the baby mickey party invitations and plates, etc.
yarinhadp2168639 asked:
Love ur cake! and i have a question about how u got the letters on Christopher is it a mold?
cakeartisan answered:
The letters are formed using FMM alphabet molds. I purchased mine from Amazon.com. You can find them by searching for FMM Funky Alphabet. Note you will need to purchase 3cm lower case letters and 4cm upper case alphabet and numbers.
