Applique Lace Wedding Cake

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Cake, Sugarpaste, Cold Porcelain, wires, dust colours, embossing mat and lace moulds. What are you most proud of? I like the modern vintage feel of the cake. Flowers are made from cold porcelain and I am really pleased with how they came out as I have been struggling with this medium. It is, however, much more resilient than gumpaste and should fair better with all the travel this cake will have to take. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I embossed the tulle panels flat on the worktop and then applied them around the cake. Look a long time as this miniature embosser is very small so had to repeat the pattern numerous times.

What you will need

  • Cake
  • Sugarpaste
  • Cold Porcelain
  • wires
